Ancient temples in southwestern region

(VOV) - Ang, Vinh Trang and Dat Set (Clay) temples in Vietnam’s southwestern region attract a large number of visitors to their unique architectures. 


Xiem Can, a biggest and most magnificent Khmer temple is about 10km from Bac Lieu city.

Xiem Can temple is a famous spiritual tourism destination in Bac Lieu. Visitors gather in large numbers during Khmer’s Chol Chnam Thmay, Sene Dolta and Ok Om Bok festivals.

Mahatuc temple known as the Temple of Bats is 3km from Soc Trang city. 

Khmer pentatonic musical instruments are stored in Mahatuc temple for use in big festivals.

Dat Set (Clay) temple in Ton Duc Thang street, Soc Trang city was built 200 years ago. 

Dat Set temple is distinguished by 1,901 clay Buddha statues. 

Vinh Trang temple is located in a 2-ha large orchard, northeast of My Tho city (Tien Giang province).

The temple is a combination of Asian and European architectures.

Ang (Ang Korajaborey) is the oldest among 140 Khmer temples in Tra Vinh province. 

Ang temple attracts tens of thousands of visitors during Khmer traditional festivals such as Ok Om bok, Chol Chnam Thmay and Dolta.
