VOV.VN - With the Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) just a few days away, Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest of its kind in Vietnam, has become packed with people who are either flying home for family reunions or going on holiday during the festive season.

According to local media outlets, from late February 2, a high influx of people have headed to Tan Son Nhat Airport for the check-in service as they travel for Tet gatherings at home or go on vacation.

Many people bring with them a lot of personal belongings as they have seven days off work for this year’s Tet holiday.

According to a representative of the airport, an average of 900 flights each day are due to either depart from and or arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on February 2 - 3.

Meanwhile, several flights to Hanoi and other northern provinces were unable to take off or land due to the unusual thick fog in the capital on February 2.

Passengers are advised not to arrive at the airport too early before their departure time in order to avoid the overload at the airport. They should also tell their family members not to gather in a crowd to pick them up at the airport.
