US Embassy inaugurates mural painting on environmental protection

VOV.VN - The United States Embassy in Hanoi hosted an inauguration ceremony for a mural painting at the American Club in Hanoi on January 15 amid the presence of US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink.

Ambassador Kritenbrink stands alongside delegates to cut the ribbon for a painting which is located on the outside wall of the American Club at 19-21 Hai Ba Trung street in Hanoi.

The painting is produced as part of the project themed “Clean Environment – Green Planet” which was launched by the US Embassy as a means of marking the 25th anniversary of relations between the US and Vietnam.

This mural focuses on the cause of environmental protection and has been jointly designed by Vietnamese-American artist Christine Nguyen, alongside four Vietnamese female artists led by Ta Thu Huong of the NGO Arts Build Communities (ABC).

Covering an area of approximately 100 square metres along the street, the aim of the mural is to raise awareness regarding the importance of protecting the environment, with the artwork featuring vividly painted fauna and flora.

The arts project was initially launched on December 23, 2020, before being completed on January 15.

Ambassador Kritenbrink expresses his great appreciation for the efforts of both sides to successfully implement the project, with collaboration underlining the friendly ties that have existed between both sides over the past 25 years.

The project also serves to contribute to future co-operation between the two countries in the field of environmental protection moving forward, the US diplomat notes.
