Numerous activities planned for Overseas Vietnamese on National Day celebrations
VOV.VN - A wide range of meaningful activities will be held for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2), according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs' State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOVA).

SCOVA is working with relevant agencies to send a delegation of Vietnamese expats to the grand celebration at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, said SCOVA Chairman Nguyen Trung Kien at a press conference in Hanoi on August 6.
Among other key events is a Vietnamese language teaching training course for overseas Vietnamese teachers, scheduled from August 13 to 28 in Hanoi and surrounding provinces, Kien added.
The programme, he revealed, will gather 80 participants from 15 countries and territories, aiming to enhance professional qualifications, teaching skills, and the use of a curriculum specifically designed for Vietnamese language education abroad.
In addition, the closing ceremony of the Day for Honouring the Vietnamese Language among Overseas Vietnamese 2025 is planned for August 14 in Hanoi. The event will evaluate the outcomes of the 2024–2025 campaign and propose directions for future implementation.
Meanwhile, an award ceremony for a competition to seek Vietnamese language ambassadors abroad will take place in Hanoi on August 21 in conjunction with the organisation of a gala programme of the beloved Vietnamese language.
With the competition now entering the final round, contestants are completing their videos to vie for titles. The judging panel will then select at least five of the best contestants to become Vietnamese language ambassadors abroad this year who will go on to help promote Vietnamese culture to international friends.
Moreover, the Union of Vietnamese People Associations in Europe is scheduled to hold traditional costume parades and signing competitions in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and Slovakia on August 28. the Vietnamese Youth Union in Europe will organize cultural exchange activities from August 14 to 16, demonstrating the younger generation’s strong connection to their homeland.
