Special online concert supports COVID-19 vaccine fund

VOV.VN - A large number of local artists based both domestically and abroad participated in a virtual concert held on August 8 in Hanoi, with the primary aim to raise funds for the country’s COVID-19 vaccine fund.

The latest event marks the second time the concert has been held. The first version originally took place on June 27 and saw the involvement of thousands of overseas Vietnamese in the United States, the UK, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore as they watched, performed, and contributed to the vaccine fund.

The event is broadcast live at 8pm on August 8 on the national television channel VTV1. Anh Tuan and Minh Hang (L-R) both take on the role of as emcee for the occasion.

A special dance sends a message of encouragement to frontline forces, including doctors, nurses, and soldiers in the struggle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event features the participation of many overseas Vietnamese artists. They are joined by some art troupes from India, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines, who showcase virtual performances directly from their own countries.

Singer Doan Trang performs from Singapore, whilst singer Tran Thu Ha displays her talents from the US. In addition, singer Hong Nhung and saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan perform from Ho Chi Minh City, whilst singer My Linh and band DaLab join the concert from Hanoi.

Famous local singer Thanh Lam performs in Hanoi.
