During their talks, both Party leaders agree to further deepen Vietnam – Laos relations by adding a new dimension: ‘Great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic connectivity.’ They also pledge to strengthen connectivity in infrastructure, economy, finance, and tourism, and to strive to achieve a trade growth target of US$5 billion in the near future.

After the talks, the two Party leaders witness the signing ceremony of 12 important cooperation documents between ministries, sectors, localities, and relevant agencies of the two countries in key areas, including defence, security, health, justice, education and training, finance and banking, and strategic infrastructure.

General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith awards the National Gold Order, the highest distinction of Laos to General Secretary, in recognition of his contributions to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Meeting with Lao National Assembly President Saysomphone Phomvihane, General Secretary To Lam proposed measures to strengthen relations between the two parliaments, particularly in improving institutional and legal frameworks, exercising supreme oversight, and deciding on key national issues. The Lao legislator affirms that he will closely coordinate with the National Assembly of Vietnam to effectively implement oversight of high-level agreements and cooperation treaties, especially major economic projects between the two countries. At another meeting Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, General Secretary To Lam proposes that the two countries continue to strengthen political trust, maintain exchange of delegations, and hold high-level contacts through all channels. Both sides also need to promote practical and more effective economic cooperation and continue implementing key cooperation projects.
