The Dutch PM had arrived in Hanoi on the evening of November 1, marking the start of his two-day official visit to the country following an invitation from PM Chinh.

PM Rutter previously took part in official visits to Vietnam in June, 2014, and in April, 2019. He has received senior Vietnamese leaders several times on their various trips to the Netherlands.

The visit takes place amid the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of joint diplomatic ties.

Cycling is a normal part of daily life for the Dutch people, with PM Rutter being interested in experiencing cycling around the Vietnamese capital.

Leaders of both nations travel through Phan Dinh Phung, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Dien Bien Phu, and Ton That Dam streets.

The delegation makes a stop at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs at No. 1 Ton That Dam street.

Vietnam and the Netherlands first set up diplomatic relations on April 9, 1973. The two countries then upgraded ties to a comprehensive partnership level in 2019. So far mutual relations have recorded tremendous achievements, thereby contributing to the modernisation and development process of each nation.
