Photo exhibition reaffirms Vietnamese sovereignty over Spratly, Paracel islands

VOV.VN - An exhibition featuring historical and legal evidence of Vietnamese sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes, as well as the life of soldiers garrisoned there, opened in Cam Ranh city of Khanh Hoa province on March 17.

The exhibition jointly organised by the Naval Region 4 Command, the Hanoi Photography Club, and the National Archives Centre IV is part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the Truong Sa archipelago (April 29, 1975) and the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Navy (May 7, 1955).

About 200 photographs, documents, and maps are on display introducing historical and legal evidence proving Vietnamese sovereignty over the two groups of islands.

The two-day event also exhibits a further 50 photographs snapped by photojournalists of the Hanoi Photography Club since 2009. The photo taken by Tien Tuan of Dan Tri newspaper depicts a relaxing time between a soldier and his friend.
