VOV.VN - Many residents of the capital receiving punishments after travelling through checkpoints without a valid reason on the night of July 30 amid Hanoi implementing a social distancing period to combat the spread of COVID-19.

At a checkpoint in Van Mieu ward at 9 p.m. on July 31, policemen are on hand to check all travel certification at the Tran Quy Cap-Nguyen Khuyen crossroad.

In order to pass through the checkpoint, drivers must present their certification of travelling issued by the administration of the capital, along with their identity cards.

Violators are fined between VND1 million VND3 million for going out at night without relevant certification of travel and identity cards.

A couple bringing with them a baby state their reason for being out is to buy milk, although they fail to prove it. Therefore, they receive a fine of VND2 million for travelling without a valid reason.

A car driver says he has gone out to receive the test results of a medical check-up for his company. However, he doesn’t have any certificate of travel, documents related to the hospital, or any test results. He must therefore call his colleagues to bring the relevant papers to the checkpoint.

If certificates of travel issued by the administration of the capital aren’t filled out correctly, then travelers must update them with the latest form.
