National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hosts an official welcoming ceremony for the Jordanian parliamentary speaker at the National Assembly Building on February 2. the two leaders hold talks immediately following the ceremony.

During the talks, the two sides agreed to strengthen exchanges and share legislative experience; promote negotiations toward the early signing and ratification of bilateral agreements; and advance cooperation in areas where their respective strengths are complementary.

Following the talks, the two parliamentary leaders sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the House of Representatives of the Jordan, establishing a framework to promote parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in the period ahead.

Receiving the Jordanian guest on February 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirms Vietnam is ready to ensure a stable and high-quality supply of agricultural and aquatic products to Jordan. He proposes studying the deployment of Jordan’s coral reef–based technology to combat saltwater intrusion in Vietnam.

Also on February 3, President Luong Cuong receives the Jordanian guest at the Presidential Palace where the two leaders agree on the need to further strengthen political and diplomatic relations, effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms, and consider establishing new frameworks to translate opportunities for defence and security cooperation into concrete outcomes. They also share orientations to promote cooperation in economic, trade, tourism, healthcare, education, the development of the halal industry, and people-to-people exchanges.

Party General Secretary To Lam also receives Speaker El Qadi on the same day, agreeing on the need to nurture bilateral relations and political trust. The two leaders also agree to cooperate in making practical and effective contributions to efforts to promote peace, resolve conflicts and support post-conflict reconstruction in the region, including active and responsible participation in the work of the Gaza Peace Council, of which both Vietnam and Jordan are members.
