The two sides agree to issue a Joint Statement upgrading Vietnam–Philippines relations to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership, ushering in a new era of bilateral cooperation and development.

The two sides agree to strengthen and promote substantive cooperation in security and defence, as well as maritime and ocean affairs; ensure freedom of navigation and overflight; and maintain peace and stability in the region through coordination mechanisms and the sharing of experience in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, protecting the marine environment, and promoting the sustainable development of fisheries.

With regard to trade, the two sides agree on major directions to create breakthroughs in economic cooperation. They emphasised the goal of soon raising bilateral trade turnover to US$10 billion and expanding cooperation into new areas such as the digital economy, green economy, marine economy, high-tech agriculture and renewable energy.
