Rain begins to fall at around 2:30 pm and lasts for more than an hour, inundating major arteries of the capital city. The rainwater drainage system becomes paralyzed due to an excessive rainfall. A high rainfall turns Phung Khoang road in Thanh Xuan district into a river. Many local traders on both sides of the road have to move tables and chairs to higher places to avoid being swept away by violent water flows. On Hoa Bang street of Cau Giay district, the water was nearly 80cm deep. A section of road near My Dinh bus station is severely inundated, hampering traffic flows. Many running motorbikes break down due to high rising water levels. Pouring rain turns Mac Thai To road in Cau Giay district into a river. A section of road near Kengnam building is impassable due to high rising water levels. An intersection between Chau Van Lien and Le Quang Dao streets is severely inundated.
