VOV.VN - The administration of Hanoi have made its final preparations for the debut lotus festival, which will open in the capital on the evening of July 12.
Hanoi Lotus Festival 2024, the first of its kind, will be held from July 12 to July 16 at Tay Ho Cultural and Creative Space on Lac Long Quan street, featuring many activities to honour the value of the lotus plant as part of socio-economic development.
Roads are decorated with pots featuring ornamental lotus trees.
The major activities of the festival include 100 booths displaying One Commune One Product (OCOP) products and lotus specialties, a lotus installation art space, and a photo exhibition of lotus flowers as part of Vietnamese life.
There will be an area set up so festival visitors can learn about the lotus, as well as both products and food made from different part of the lotus flower and plant.
Booths displaying One Commune One Product (OCOP) products and lotus specialties are expected to bring about wonderful experiences for visitors.
Handicraft products featuring lotus flowers will also be on show, along with specific lotus varieties from Hanoi and other northern regions.
The festival also provides beautiful backgrounds which festival-goers can use to pose for photos.
Participants will be encouraged to wear Ao Dai (traditional long dress) featuring lotus patterns whilst they learn about processes to make lotus tea.
The festival is scheduled to last through to July 16.
