According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, by around February 7, this cold spell will affect the northeastern region, then spread to the northwest, north-central, central-central, and some areas in the south-central region. The northeastern winds will intensify to level 3 inland, and level 3-4 along the coast, with gusts reaching level 6 in some areas.
From the afternoon of February 7, the northern region and north-central provinces will experience cold, with temperatures dropping to 9-12°C in the lowlands and 5-8°C in the mountains. In some high-altitude areas, temperatures may fall below 2°C.
From the afternoon of February 7, the weather in Hanoi will turn cold with heavy frost in some areas. The lowest temperature during this cold spell is expected to range from 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.
The cold spell in northern Vietnam and central regions is expected to last until around February 10, with reduced visibility and slippery roads.
