The vaccination campaign is being carried out in Hanoi’s first eight districts and towns, namely Long Bien, Phu Xuyen, Phuc Tho, Thuong Tin, Dong Anh, Hoai Duc, Son Tay, and Thach That. Early in the morning, many parents bring their children to the vaccination sites to get the shot. In the photo, children wait for medical checkups ahead of getting the shot in Hoai Duc district. All healthcare staff have been trained to handle any adverse events that may occur following vaccination. “Today, we have assigned specific tasks to each staff member responsible for different stages to ensure that the vaccination process runs smoothly and safely,” says Nguyen Dinh Hung, deputy head of the Di Trach Medical Station in Hoai Duc district. All the children receive medical check-ups before getting the shot, and they are discharged 30 minutes after vaccination. Besides onsite vaccinations, mobile teams of doctors and nurses have been dispatched to communes and villages to carry out vaccinations and handle any post-vaccination incidents. “We have enhanced communication campaigns to ensure that no child eligible for vaccination is missed,” says Hoang Thi Thanh, deputy director of the hoai Duc District Medical Centre. All the vaccination sites have been equipped with facilities, shock treatment kits, and oxygen tanks to ensure vaccination safety. The measles vaccination campaign has received enthusiastic support and participation from local residents. Statistics show that Hanoi has reported 17 cases of measles, with no fatalities, since the beginning of the year. VOV
