Walmart supports women owned businesses
(VOV) - Walmart supports women-owned businesses around the globe through its “Empowering Women Together” initiative, said Senior Director Jocelyn of Walmart Global Sourcing on January 15 at a seminar in Hanoi.
Empowering Women Together is an online destination on Walmart.com that gives shoppers who want to buy unique and interesting products the opportunity to do so while supporting small women-owned businesses.
With each purchase, consumers lift and empower the women behind these products to create new jobs and improve both their own lives and the lives of their families and communities.

The program is part of Walmart's larger Women's Economic Empowerment Initiative's commitment to source US$20 billion of merchandise annually from women-owned businesses.
At the seminar, Walmart representatives also met with men and women representatives of roughly 50 companies in the garment, footwear, wood products and food industries to discuss the potential to become Walmart partners.
