The nation hits over one US$ bil export milestone with Brazil, Mexico

(VOV) - Vietnam earned US$1.013 billion from Brazil and US$1 billion from Mexico in export revenue for the past eight months of this year. 

By the end of August, the country made its way to 27 markets with export revenue of more than US$1 billion each, two more markets higher than the number of last year’ same period, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Main export items to Brazil included telephones and components at US$373 million, footwear at nearly US$160 million and garments at more US$51 million.

Mexico primarily imported telephones and components (almost US$385 million), footwear (nearly US$153 million) and computers, electronics and components (more than US$100 million) from Vietnam.

Currently, four American markets recorded import value of more than US$1 billion worth of Vietnamese products.

The US remained the largest export market of Vietnam at US$21.85 billion, US$3.44 billion higher than the same period last year.

Canada - the fourth export market in America- the country posted import value of US$1.625 billion.
