Key export products in Q1 2018

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s exports in the first quarter of this year grew by 24.8% against the same period last year with 11 out of 46 groups of products achieving an export value of more than US$1 billion each, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Exports of telephones and components increased 62.3% to US$12.6 billion.

Garment exports hit US$6.43 billion, up 14.9% with the US remaining the largest importer with US$3.04 billion.

Exports of computers, electronics and components rose 14.1% to US$6.33 billion. China topped consumers of Vietnamese products with an import value of US$1.74 billion.

Footwear exports grew 10.6% to US$3.44 billion and the US made up US$1.28 billion of the figure.

Exports of machines, equipment, tools and others reached US$3.69 billion, a year-on-year rise of 28.7% with the US (US$603 million), the EU (US$530 million) and India (US$482 million) as major importers. 

Exports of means of transport and tools hit US$2.03 billion, up 18.4% with major consumers such as Japan (US$581 million), the US (US$276 million) and India (US$100 million).

Wood and timber product exports increased 9.5% to US$1.94 billion. The US ranked first among importers with a value of US$766 million, trailed by China with US$270 million and Japan with US$264 million.

Seafood exports reached US$1.77 billion, up 17.6% with major import markets of the EU (US$312 million), the US (US$271 million) and Japan (US$264 million).

Exports of cameras and components jumped 41.7% to US$1.05 billion.

Steel exports reached US$1.04 billion, up 57.3%. Vietnamese products were mainly shipped to Cambodia (with US$180 million), the US (US$179 million) and Indonesia (US$147 million).
