Da Lat coffee available in Starbucks stores

Coffee from Cau Dat in Da Lat has become one of seven kinds of Arabica coffee sold at Starbucks stores worldwide.

On its website, Starbucks said that it would begin selling Arabica coffee originating from Cau Dat, Da Lat City in more than 21,500 stores in 56 countries worldwide.

This is the first time an Arabica coffee grown in Vietnam was chosen by Starbucks.

The price for 1 kilo of roasted Da Lat coffee at Starbucks stores is nearly US$50.

Leslie Wolford, senior expert of Starbucks coffee, said the quality of Arabica coffee in Da Lat was high.

Besides Cau Dat coffee, Starbucks selected six countries as suppliers of Arabica coffee for its stores, including Indonesia, Kenya, Rwanda, Brazil, Colombia and Guatemala.

To be selected as one of the products in Starbucks stores, the coffee must meet very strict standards on taste, aroma and safety, known as Starbucks Coffee and Farmer Equity (CAFE).
