Craft Fair Hanoi holds ribbon cutting ceremony

VOV.VN - The Craft Fair Hanoi, August 26-29, has opened at the Thang Long Royal Citadel in Hanoi showcasing hundreds of fine art and handicraft items in roughly 200 booths spanning a 2,000 square metre exhibition area.

Speaking at the ribbon cutting ceremony, Hoang Quoc Vuong, deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said the fair is one of this year’s premiere events supporting the handicraft industry.

Here guests, while shopping, have the opportunity to meet with local artists, learn what inspires them and how they take raw materials like clay, wood, metal and glass and transform them into fine craft.

In addition to the array of high quality crafts, guests can enjoy food from area vendors, fun hands-on activities and demonstrations from artisans aimed to educate as they demonstrate how to create fantastic pieces right in front of your eyes.

It also helps, said Mr Vuong, to build a platform for high-quality craftsmanship by supporting growth and creative expression for the country’s artists and artisans, helping to reinforce the importance of the country’s cultural economy.
