Central rate decreases slightly

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on February 22 announced the central rate for the Vietnam dong against the US dollar at VND21,894 per US dollar, a decrease of VND6 compared to the late last week.

With the current +/- 3% VND/USD trading band, the ceiling exchange rate is VND22,551 per US dollar and the floor rate is VND21,237 VND per US dollar.

Meanwhile, the listing rate at commercial banks showed little change.

The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) and the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) posted the buying and selling rates at VND22,330- 22,400 per US dollar, the same as the last working day of last week.

The Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint- stock Bank (Techcombank) posted the buying and selling rates at VND22,298/22,410 per US dollar, up only VND2 in the selling rate.



The rates applied by the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) were up by VND5, at VND22,325 and VND22,405 per US dollar (buying-selling).

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Import-Export Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) raised the buying rate by VND10 and the selling rate by VND20, posting the exchange rate at VND22,320/VND22,410 (buying/selling) per US dollar.
