Russian, Vietnamese officials discuss possibility of cooperation

(VOV) -Vietnam Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son and Tambov provincial governor Oleg I. Betin have discussed the possibility of stepping up trade and investment cooperation in the time to come.

At their meeting on April 16, the Vietnamese diplomat informed the Tambov leader about the results of the recent Vietnam visit by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, noting that in the current situation, strengthening cooperation across a variety of areas is very crucial to both sides.

Son revealed that a major Vietnamese milk processing enterprise using high-tech advances from Israel is very keen on investing in Russia, adding that he would introduce the firm to Tambov province.

For his part, Betin highlighted his province’s agricultural strengths thanks to fertile soil as well as the major possibility of increased animal husbandry cooperation with Vietnam as Tambov’s animal and poultry product processing facilities are under construction.

He also expressed his locality’s willingness to spur agricultural cooperation with Vietnam thus opening up food export opportunities for the Southeast Asian nation.

Both sides also compared notes on various aspects of cooperation and agreed to work harder to elevate the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level, delivering mutual benefit to Vietnam and Tambov province as well.
