Localities asked to report public investment disbursement progress
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has asked centrally-run cities and provinces to promptly submit their reports on the implementation and disbursement of public investment in 2018.
The ministry requested the People’s Committees of the localities to report on the pace of implementation of public investment plans in quarter 1 and April this year as well as the direction and solutions they have taken to carry out the work in the first and second quarters of this year and each month.
The localities are urged to report the progress of disbursement of capital for projects included in public investment plan of the year as of the end of April 2018, the estimate for the present to the end of June and the whole year.
The MPI asked the localities to specify their difficulties and obstacles in implementing and allocating public investment as well as reasons behind them, as well as propose solutions to speed up the disbursement of the capital in the rest of the year.
According the MPI, in the first four months of the year, VND70.9 trillion (US$3.11 billion) of capital from the State budget was disbursed, equivalent to 21% of the yearly target and representing a rise of 9.3% year on year.
Of the total, the centrally-managed capital was VND13.1 trillion (US$576.4 million), accounting for 19.9% of the yearly target, a fall of 2.3% over the same period last year. Meanwhile, the capital managed by localities was VND57.8 trillion (US$2.54 billion), equivalent to 21.2% of the target for the whole year and up 12.3% year on year.
