Ground-breaking for NIKE factory in Can Tho

VOV.VN - Korean based Taekwang Corporation, a partner of the world's leading sports brand Nike, has broken ground on a running shoe factory in the city of Can Tho located in the southern Vietnam Mekong Delta region.

The plant being constructed on a 62-hectare site should be completed in mid-2017 and is expected to create 35,000 jobs, Taekwang said at the ground-breaking, adding that the planned works are estimated at US$170 million.

The ground-breaking ceremony on September 29 was attended by Park Noh Wan, Korean Consult General to HCM City and Truong Quang Hoai Nam, vice chairman of Can Tho People’s Committee.
