Bordergate economic zones receive a boost
(VOV) - Eight bordergate economic zones will receive huge development investment from the State budget between 2013 and 2015.
Under a plan recently approved by the Prime Minister, beneficiaries are Mong Cai bordergate EZ in Quang Ninh province, Dong Dang-Lang Son bordergate EZ in Lang Son province, Lao Cai border EZ in Lao Cai province, and Cau Treo border EZ in Ha Tinh province.
They also include Lao Bao special EZ in Quang Tri province, Bo Y international bordergate EZ in Kon Tum province, Moc Bai bordergate EZ in Tay Ninh, and An Giang bordegate EZ in An Giang province.
The PM asked the relevant ministries and provinces to propose a list of priority areas in dire need of investment to make these EZs operate more efficiently.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) will work with other ministries and designated localities to allocate at least 70 percent of needed capital from the State budget to develop infrastructure at these EZs.
The MPI was assigned to monitor the implementation of the plan and report the results to the PM.
Earlier, the PM has selected five coastal economic zones to receive development investment from the State budget from 2013-2015.
