World's largest container ship OOCL Spain docks at Cai Mep - Thi Vai port
VOV.VN - OOCL Spain, the world’s largest super container ship with a loading capacity of 24,188 TEU, docked at the Gemalink International Port in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport complex in the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau on March 30.
This marks the largest container ship to ever dock at Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport complex.
A representative of Gemalink International Port said OOCL Spain’s anchoring serves to elevate the position of Cai Mep-Thi Vai port in the world and helps customers to save on logistic costs.
It also opens up a new phase of development for Cai Mep-Thi Vai port cluster, as well as the nation’s maritime industry in general, the representative added.
It is OOCL Spain’s first voyage on the Asia-Europe route LL3, passing through Chinese seaports, docking at Cai Mep-Thi Vai port, before continuing its 84-day journey to Singapore - Piraeus - Hamburg - Rotterdam - Zeebrugge - Valencia - Piraeus - Abu Dhabi - Singapore - Shanghai.
OOCL Spain built on February 16 has duly been awarded three "Smart Ship" notations by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). It is the largest container ship ever to dock in the Vietnamese port system.
