World Bank supports rapid growth, comprehensive development in Vietnam
VOV.VN - The World Bank will work closely alongside Vietnam in the new Country Partnership Framework for the 2023-2027 period to promote rapid growth and sustainable and comprehensive development in the country, said Anna Bjerde, the World Bank’s Managing Director for Operations.
Managing Director Anna Bjerde was speaking during a working session with Vietnamese Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc on the sidelines of the APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting 2023 in San Francisco on November 13.
At the meeting, Minister Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that the World Bank is always an important partner that has supported the Government of Vietnam with policy advice and financial resources for many years.
He expressed Vietnam’s wish to receive continued support from the World Bank through loans to prioritize the implementation of major projects on strategic transport infrastructure, renewable energy, smart agriculture, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, climate change response in the Mekong Delta, and digital transformation.
The World Bank recently projected that the Vietnamese economy is likely to grow by 4.7% in 2023 before expanding by 5.4% in 2024 and 6% in 2025.
