VinFast VF 3 and VF Wild grab international headlines at CES 2024

Autoevolution, a major automobile newswire of the United States, praised the VF3 concept car, noting that it is now being rolled out globally as its latest electric model after initially premiering domestically. The media outlet even described the new car as looking adorable like a tiny Suzuki Jimny electric.

According to the newswire, VinFast’s latest electric vehicle concept the VF Wild also captured a lot of attention from foreign media at CES 2024.

Looking like something that could take a swing both at Rivian's R1T and the ICE-powered mid-size pickup truck establishment led by the hybridised N400 Toyota Tacoma, this prototype is not just a Vietnamese take on the vehicle. Instead, it was developed jointly by both VinFast and Australian design studio Gomitiv.

The publication stressed that VinFast is currently building its own US factory worth US$4 billion in Chatham County of North Carolina, and if they start making the VF Wild there, it could easily become a noteworthy competitor.  

Meanwhile, Carbuzz, another major US auto newspaper, emphasised that the VF 3 remains an EV model worth considering for those who do not have much need to travel outside of the city, especially with its attractive price.

The VF 3 is projected to have a price tag of under US$20,000, which can go below US$12,500 if it qualifies for the US$7,500 federal tax credit. 

The newswire also offered positive comment on the VF Wild truck concept at the CES 2024, which aims to rival the Ford F-150 and Tesla Cybertruck if it ever reaches production.

Autoblog, another automotive site which is part of Yahoo!, also described VF Wild as a highly intriguing pickup truck which could be a good fit for the US market.

Road & Track, a reputable auto magazine founded in 1947, pointed out that at just 125 inches long, the VF3 has become the smallest car in America by a wide margin, beating out both the upcoming Fiat and the 152-inch Mitsubishi Mirage that currently holds the title.

The magazine outlined that the EV could instantly become one of the most affordable EVs in the US moving forward.
