VINAFIS EXPO 2026 spotlights innovation and investment opportunities in fisheries
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Fisheries Society (VINAFIS) held a press conference on October 13 in Hanoi to announce the Vietnam International Fisheries Science and Technology Exhibition – VINAFIS EXPO 2026, scheduled for April 28-30, 2026, at Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

VINAFIS EXPO 2026 will be the first exhibition to cover the entire fisheries sector, offering comprehensive opportunities for domestic and international businesses across the fisheries value chain, from harvesting and aquaculture to post-harvest services, processing, consumption, and logistics. The event marks an important step for Vietnam’s fisheries sector in the process of sustainable development and global integration.
The exhibition will feature more than 200 booths from domestic and international organizations and businesses, presenting products, technologies, and services relating to aquaculture, harvesting, processing, breeding, feed, biological products, logistics, and trade. Notably, 40% of participants come from countries including the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), and China, underlining Vietnam’s growing position in the global fisheries market.
Key activities at VINAFIS EXPO 2026 include an international scientific conference on pressing topics such as sustainable marine aquaculture, nutrition and disease prevention in fisheries, processing and preservation technologies, logistics, and innovation across the value chain. The VietShrimp Forum and VinaMarine Aqua international workshop on marine farming technologies are expected to attract experts, business leaders, managers and local farmers.
A highlight of the event will be the Farmtour program, allowing attendees to experience modern aquaculture models in the Southeast and Mekong Delta regions, the country’s major fisheries hubs.
The organizers will also host the VINAFIS AWARD ceremony, honoring organizations, businesses, and individuals with exemplary products that meet high-quality standards, are environmentally friendly, and deliver practical economic and social benefits.

In his speech, Tran Dinh Luan, Director General of the Directorate of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, said VINAFIS EXPO 2026 will not only showcase achievements and new technologies but also launch an annual series of events to promote Vietnam’s fisheries sector internationally.
Vietnam is a leading fisheries exporter with strengths in both aquaculture and harvesting, yet it has lacked large-scale exhibitions to demonstrate technology, unlike Nordic countries with events such as Aqua Nor or Nor-Fishing. VINAFIS EXPO 2026 will provide a platform to attract advanced technologies to Vietnam, foster knowledge transfer, and bring together scientists, businesses, and policymakers to drive innovation in sustainable aquaculture, harvesting, and marine environmental protection.
“We believe VINAFIS EXPO 2026 will turn science and technology into a true lever for boosting productivity, value, and sustainable development in fisheries, in line with the spirit of Central Resolution 57 on applying science to develop the blue economy while protecting resources and biodiversity,” Luan emphasized.
Held in conjunction with the anniversary of Vietnam Fisheries Day (April 1), VINAFIS EXPO 2026 is recognized as a major national event, reflecting the ambition to develop Vietnam’s fisheries sector in a green, sustainable, and globally integrated direction.
The event will highlight industry achievements while serving as a hub for cooperation, investment, and technology transfer among domestic and international stakeholders.
