Viettel conquers Philippine market with million-US dollar contract

Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation (VHT), a subsidiary of the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel Group) has signed a contract worth nearly US$2 million with ContactPoint, Inc. of the Philippines to provide a firearm training simulation system to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

This is the second contract of Viettel in just half a year in this market. It marks a significant milestone for Viettel in its journey to conquer the high-tech industry in the Southeast Asian nation.

With the first contract inked in March this year, Viettel committed to deploying customised shooting simulation systems tailored to the specific demand of the PNP.

Developed by Viettel, the system has been enhanced with over 90% new features in line with training requirements of the client. Notably, Viettel has developed a recoil device in the simulation system, supporting specific guns such as Glock, Taurus and M16 Rifle; and a new shooting training software module, helping improve the quality of training and combat preparation.

Cesar J. Manuel Jr., CEO of ContactPoint, a leading technology company in the Philippines specialising in providing solutions and equipment for government agencies and private clients, stated that the company had searched extensively, but no other partner in the world can customise products to their exact requirements like Viettel.

The pricing offered by Viettel is extremely competitive compared to other providers, giving Viettel a significant competitive advantage in the international market, he added.

Meanwhile, CEO of VHT Nguyen Vu Ha said Viettel is committed to providing the most advanced and highest quality products in the Philippines and the international market in general, contributing to improving training quality and reducing training costs.

The success of the firearm training simulation system proves Viettel's technological ability, he noted.

Radel Ramos, training director of the PNP stated that Viettel not only provides advanced technological solutions but also significantly helps the Philippine police force improve their training capability in line with the country's practical conditions.
