Vietnam’s seven-month coffee exports hit nearly US$6 billion, set new record
VOV.VN - Export coffee prices have soared, helping Vietnamese businesses rake in a record-high of nearly US$6 billion in just the first seven months of this year, far surpassing the total value for all of last year.

According to the Department of Customs, exporters shipped 1.06 million tonnes of coffee of various types in seven months, generating nearly US$ 6 billion in revenue, up 7.4% in volume but up 64.9% in value ytear on year.
The seven-month export value marks a milestone for Vietnam’s coffee industry, exceeding 2024’s full-year figure of US$5.62 billion.
The three largest markets for Vietnamese coffee were Germany (accounting for 15.3% of total export value; more than double year on year), Italy (7.6%; up 47.4%), and Spain (7.5%; up 67%).
Remarkably, exports to Mexico surged by 88 times, the sharpest increase among Vietnam’s top 15 coffee markets. The smallest growth rate was recorded in China, but still reached 24.4%.
The record-breaking export value was driven by skyrocketing coffee prices amid a global supply shortage. In the first seven months, the average export price reached US$5,672.2 per tonne, up over 53% year on year.
Other contributing factors included recovering demand from major markets such as the EU, the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China, along with Vietnamese businesses’ increased investment in processing technology and traceability, which boosted added value and expanded market reach.
Vietnam’s coffee exports are expected to maintain momentum in the remaining months of the year thanks to improved supply and robust global demand, though potential challenges remain from new US tariff policies.
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), global coffee output for the 2025-2026 season is projected to hit a record 178.7 million bags. Vietnam’s production is forecast to reach 1.85 million tonnes, up nearly 7%, the highest in four years. Global consumption is also likely to set a new peak at around 169.4 million 60-kg bags.
