Vietnamese longans sell well in Australian market
VOV.VN - Approximately 10 tonnes of high-quality Vietnamese longans hit the shelves of various supermarkets in Melbourne on August 10 by HOA Australia Pty Ltd, according to information given by the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia.
The introduction of the fruit is part of the Vietnamese Longan Week taking place throughout Australia.
The Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia said it would continue to co-ordinate efforts with importers in order to popularize Vietnamese longans during the event.
Dozens of tonnes of the tropical fruit had previously been brought to the Australian market by importers.
In the two states of Western and South Australia, Red Dragon Co, Ltd's fresh longans were distributed by 4Waysfresh Company, an Australia-based agribusiness founded in 1993.
A representative from 4Waysfresh stated that it would continue importing longans from Red Dragon Co, Ltd. and would wait to receive additional shipments of the tropical product in the near future.
Apart from promotional events and trade exchange activities, the Trade Office has also requested that the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service facilitate clear customs procedures at the earliest possible time. It said it hopes that Vietnamese businesses will continue to promote the export of longans and vegetables to Australia moving forward.
The unit has encouraged Vietnamese businesses to register for the fastest shipping possible and duly notify the Trade Office to update the schedule of shipments to achieve smooth co-ordination in customs clearance procedures and future promotional activities.
