Vietnamese, Lao businesses seek to boost alliance

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Business Association for Cooperation and Investment in Laos and the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Laos would make joint efforts to build up an economic and e-commerce information system for their member companies.

This comes as a key part of the cooperation deal the two associations inked on May 14 in Vientiane, Laos.

Under the deal, both sides will work on arranging consultancy activities and exchanges in order to further boost the trade and investment of their member businesses in the future.

A string of symposiums, trade exhibitions, and investment promotion events are set to be organized to update member companies on market trends and new policies and regulations issued by the two countries.

Nguyen Ba Hung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, and Vilayvone Vanthavong, Vice Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union Central Committee, said they believe that the cooperation deal would assist both associations’ member companies in enhancing linkages aimed to expand their business and production. It would help to intensify solidarity and cooperation between the two countries’ youth unions and further socio-economic development of the two nations.

According to the Vietnam Business Association for Cooperation and Investment in Laos, Vietnamese businesses have invested over US$4.1 billion in more than 400 projects throughout Laos.

Enterprises from both sides have been working together to bring closer partnership across many fields, including agriculture, mining, and services.
