Vietnamese food, beverage products impress visitors at expo in Malaysia
VOV.VN - A range of Vietnamese products have impressed visitors at the Vietnam Food and Beverage Fair which is taking place from December 14 to 17 in the Malaysian state of Penang.
The event has attracted the participation of several leading Vietnamese food companies, such as Vina Milk, TH True milk, VP Milk, and Vinamex.
On display are plenty of advantageous Vietnamese products, including rice, instant noodles, dried noddles, fresh fruit, dried fruit, powdered milk, fresh milk, and many spices such as pepper, star anise, and fish sauce.
Notably, some of pavilions are introducing traditional Vietnamese dishes which are renowned on the world's "culinary map", such as pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches), banh cuon (steamed rolled pancakes), nem (spring rolls), and Hue beef noodle soup.
In his opening speech at the event, Le Phu Cuong, Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Malaysia, emphasised that the agricultural and food processing has become one of the strengths in the Vietnamese economy.
Up to now, roughly 3,000 Vietnamese products have received Halal certificates from Malaysia to enter the Malaysian market and other Muslim countries.
Cuong went on to express hope that the fair would help Malaysian consumers and retailers gain greater insights into the diversity of Vietnamese products, while simultaneously promoting trade connectivity between businesses of the two countries.
