Vietnamese farm produce showcased at world’s leading organic food fair

VOV.VN - A delegation of 12 Vietnamese enterprises participated in a trade exchange with German and European businesses on February 11 as part of Biofach 2025, the world's largest organic trade fair, held in Bavaria, Germany.

The event was co-organized by the Vietnamese Trade Office in Germany and the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA).

Speaking at the event, Dang Thi Bich Huong, Vice President of VOAA, highlighted the association’s efforts in showcasing a diverse range of organic products at the Vietnamese pavilion.

Alongside traditional exports such as tea, coffee, spices, cinnamon, star anise, pepper, and cashew nuts, the fair also featured new products, including instant salted coffee, coconut nectar, disposable plates, food containers, organic shampoo, and shower gel.

Marco Schlüter, Head of Strategy & International at Naturland, shared insights into Germany’s organic food industry and the association’s global reach, spanning 60 countries, including Vietnam and the Philippines. Over the past four years, Naturland has supported VOAA in strategy development and service expansion for its members.

He expressed his pleasure in assisting VOAA and its businesses in promoting their products, strengthening global connections, and advancing trade in organic farm produce while supporting environmental sustainability.

Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Germany Dang Thi Thanh Phuong noted that bilateral trade has consistently grown, reaching US$11.7 billion last year, with Vietnam’s exports accounting for US$7.43 billion. Germany remains Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the EU.

Despite Vietnam’s organic exports to Germany still being modest, opportunities for collaboration remain substantial.

VOAA Vice President Dang Thi Bich Huong emphasized the significance of Biofach for Vietnam’s organic industry. Despite global economic challenges, Germany’s organic product consumption rose by 5% last year, a positive sign for Vietnamese organic goods looking to expand in Germany and across Europe in 2025.
