Vietnam-Singapore trade continues upward momentum
VOV.VN - Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Singapore maintained solid momentum in July and the first seven months of this year, reinforcing Singapore’s position as one of Vietnam’s key partners in the region.

Data from Singapore’s Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority showed that two-way trade reached SGD3.6 billion (US$2.8 billion) in July, up 14.6% year-on-year. The city state exports to Vietnam totaled SGD2.4 billion, while imports from Vietnam surged 58.1% to SGD1.2 billion.
During the seven-month period, bilateral trade amounted to SGD23.1 billion, a rise of 26.1% against the same period of 2024. Singapore exported SGD16.3 billion worth of goods to Vietnam, while imports from Vietnam reached SGD6.7 billion, up 43%.
Key Vietnamese export items included machinery, electrical equipment, and mechanical appliances, which together made up the bulk of Singapore’s imports.
According to Vietnam’s Trade Counsellor in Singapore, Cao Xuan Thang, the focus of bilateral trade on technology and fuel-related sectors indicates the complementary structures of the two economies and creates a foundation for businesses to expand cooperation in areas such as supply chain connectivity, new trade platforms, and logistics.
