Vietnam showcases food products at Global Food Week in UAE

VOV.VN - Vietnam have showcased its agricultural and food products and explored opportunities at Global Food Week 2026 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to expand their presence in the UAE, the wider Middle East and other international markets.

The event took place from October 6 to 8 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, with the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE setting up a booth to introduce Vietnamese products.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyen Thanh Diep highlighted the importance of the country’s participation, particularly in popularizing high-quality agricultural and food products and broadening their access to international markets.

Global Food Week is a major regional platform for the food and agriculture sectors, bringing together businesses, brands and representatives from different countries to develop trade and investment links, exchange technologies and strengthen cooperation across global food supply chains.

The event also provides a platform for countries to exchange solutions to ensure food security, promote sustainable agriculture and apply modern technologies to food production, processing and distribution.

The UAE is one of Vietnam’s most important trade and investment partners in the Middle East and a gateway to markets across the wider region, West Asia and Africa. Bilateral trade reached a record US$6.5 billion in 2025.

The Vietnam–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed on October 28, 2024 and effective from February 3, 2026, is expected to further expand trade ties, with the UAE committing to eliminate tariffs, according to a phased schedule, on 99% of Vietnam’s exports to the market. The agreement also opens up opportunities for Vietnamese agricultural and food products to strengthen their presence in the region.
