Vietnamese businesses to explore UAE, Middle East opportunities

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to organise a trade and investment promotion programme in the UAE this November, giving Vietnamese businesses opportunities to meet potential partners, explore the UAE market and expand exports and investment in the Middle East.

According to the Industrial Development Centre (IDC) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the 2026 Trade and Investment Promotion Programme in the UAE will take place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from November 22-26.

The delegation’s agenda will include an annual trade promotion conference, the Big 5 Global Dubai 2026 international exhibition and meetings with the Emirates Development Bank (EDB).

Priority will be given to enterprises operating in construction, building materials, mechanical engineering, industrial machinery and equipment, interiors, technology and logistics. Companies seeking to expand exports to the UAE and wider Middle East will also be encouraged to participate.

According to the IDC, participation in the programme will give Vietnamese businesses direct access to the UAE market, help expand their partner networks and open up opportunities for trade and investment cooperation in a market that plays an important role as a gateway to the wider Middle East.

Participating enterprises will attend Big 5 Global Dubai 2026, a major international exhibition covering construction, building materials, mechanical engineering, interiors and building technology, attracting thousands of companies from around the world.

The delegation will also meet with EDB and the IFZA Free Zone to learn about investment policies and business development opportunities in the UAE.

The itinerary includes an annual trade promotion conference with Vietnamese businesses and UAE partners, as well as meetings with the Vietnam Trade Office in the UAE, investment funds and project developers.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and the UAE has maintained a significant scale over the past years, with last year’s trade reaching nearly US$6.5 billion.

Vietnam’s major exports to the UAE included phones, computers, textiles and garments, fruits and vegetables, and cashew nuts. In the opposite direction, Vietnam mainly imported energy and mineral products from the UAE.

Beyond goods trade, bilateral investment ties have also seen the emergence of major projects.

In February 2026, UAE-based groups G42 and ADQ announced plans to develop a data center in Ho Chi Minh City in cooperation with FPT, VinaCapital and Viet Thai, with an initial investment of US$1 billion.

Vietnamese companies including VinFast, FPT and Viettel also have offices in the UAE.
