Vietnam seen as Korean key export market

VOV.VN -Vietnam is classified as one of four strategic export markets by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra), the Korea JoongAng Daily said February 25.

The agency will focus on creating linkages between its producers with consumers in four markets- Vietnam, China, Iran and Brazil in the first half of 2016.

Vietnam and China have engaged in a host of free trade agreements (FTAs); Iran's sanctions have been lifted; Brazil is the host of the upcoming Summer Olympics. These, among others, are contributory factors to making the four markets more appealing to Korean investors, the  Korea JoongAng Daily said.

Kotra underlined the role of local small and medium-sized enterprises in achieving deeper penetration of the four potential markets and securing success.

Kotra CEO Kim Jae-hong in his address at a press conference on February 24 revealed that his agency’s representative offices in these markets will support the initiative.
