VOV.VN - Executives of 500 businesses of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) will attend the Vietnam – RoK economic forum 2023 in Hanoi on June 23 afternoon.

Among the Vietnamese and Korean businesses participating in the forum are Samsung Electronics, Doosan Enerbility, VinFast, Boston Consulting, and Shinhan Bank.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and RoK President Yoon Suk-yeol, who is in Hanoi for an official visit to Vietnam, are scheduled to attend and deliver speeches at the event.

The forum is to look forward to the Vietnam-RoK Industrial Cooperation Strategy in the future, and at the same time focus on cooperation in the global value chain, digital transformation and climate action agenda.

Vietnam and the RoK established diplomatic relations in December 1992 and became a Strategic Cooperation Partnership in October 2009. The two countries upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022.

Currently, the RoK is Vietnam’s largest foreign investor, second largest ODA provider and third largest trading partner. Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the RoK reached US$87 billion last year, a year-on-year rise of 11.4%.
