Vietnam Rice Festival 2023 to be held in Hau Giang this December

VOV.VN - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Trung made a fact-finding trip to the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang on August 30 to examine its preparations for hosting the Vietnam Rice Festival 2023 this December.

The festival themed a hundred-year journey of Vietnamese rice is expected to attract businesses to display OCOP products, culinary delicacies made of rice, and machines and equipment for rice production on more than 700 booths.

About 1,500 domestic and foreign delegates are anticipated to participate in the festival’s activities, including opening and closing ceremonies, festivities, contests, seminars, and new rice records, along with field trips to successful businesses in the locality.

At a working session with leaders of the provincial administration, Trung said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has gathered feedback from relevant agencies and proposed that Hau Giang play host to the festival from December 12- 15.

He asked the local leadership to fix the time and the tentative plan of the festival, during which an international seminar will be held along with two national seminars and a local seminar.

He also asked Hau Giang to enhance communications before, during and after the festival, to create the spillover effect of the event.
