Vietnam promotes frozen and fresh ginger in Australia

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese trade office in Australia said on July 12 that it is launching a trade promotion programme aimed at pushing Vietnamese ginger to Australian consumers.

The move will see Vietnamese ginger promoted via numerous social media channels, websites, supermarkets, stores, and restaurants, with the products set to feature attractive prices.

Furthermore, to attract greater attention from both the public and entrepreneurs, whilst enhancing the value of the Vietnamese ginger brand, the trade office will work with the organiser of a golf tournament held by the Vietnamese community in Parramatta to advertise Vietnamese ginger.

During the opening months of the year, the country’s frozen ginger exports to Australia enjoyed a significant increase to reach more than US$348,000. Fresh ginger is being sold at approximately VND200,000 per kg, equivalent to between AUD9 and AUD13 per kg.

Market surveys conducted by the trade office indicate that there was a time when the retail price of the product was sold for up to VND850,000 per kg.
