Vietnam International Agricultural Fair opens in Can Tho

On display at the fair are agricultural machines, equipment, mechanics, materials, animal breeding and plant varieties, processed farm produce, organic and safe farm produce models and consumer goods for farmers and rural areas.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the vice chairman of Can Tho People’s Committee Truong Hoai Nam said the fair serves as a place for scientists, producers and businesses to meet, exchange experiences and to transfer technologies.

It is also an important trade promotion channel for economic organizations and businesses to expand their consumer and export markets for agricultural products, and improve both their competition and integration capacity.

During the fair, which runs until November 6, there are other ongoing events such as a conference to connect businesses between Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Can Tho, a festival to honour Vietnamese tra fish, a seminar to develop a value chain for key agricultural products across the Mekong Delta region, a talk to discuss measures on how to boost the farm produce exports of Can Tho and other Mekong Delta provinces to the US and a program to provide consultation for farmers.
