Vietnam imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese tables, chairs

VOV.VN - Vietnam has moved to impose anti-dumping duties of between 21.4% and 35.2% on some table and chair products originating from China.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the tariffs will be applied over five years, starting on February 13.

Table and chair imports from the Chinese market have increased significantly compared with both domestic consumption and production, a factor which has caused damage to domestic production, the Ministry said.

In contrast, although dumping behaviour exists, the rate of imported products from Malaysia which are under investigation is insignificant at less than 3%. Therefore, the products under investigation from Malaysia are being excluded from the scope of the recent anti-dumping measures.
