US exempts seven Vietnamese tra fish exporters from anti-dumping duties
VOV.VN - The US has officially announced the results of its 20th administrative review (POR20) on anti-dumping duties for frozen pangasius (tra fish) fillets imported from Vietnam, with seven Vietnamese exporters granted a 0% tariff rate, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.
The review covered the period from August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023. The number of Vietnamese companies exempted this time increased by six compared to the previous review.
Notably, Vinh Hoan Joint Stock Company was not included in the list, as it has already been removed from the scope of anti-dumping duties in post-2025 review periods. This stems from an agreement reached between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) related to the DS5368 case, which was concluded on January 17, 2025.
Meanwhile, the national tax rate under POR20 remains at US$2.39 per kilogram for other companies not eligible for exemption.
Pangasius remains one of Vietnam’s key export products, generating billions of dollars in revenue. Traditional frozen fillet products account for 80% of the country’s pangasius exports to global markets.
The United States is a major market for Vietnamese pangasius, meaning developments in US trade policy, particularly around tariff rates, have a considerable impact on the industry. In the first five months of 2025, Vietnam exported US$142 million worth of pangasius to the US, up 7% year-on-year.
