Vietnam Expo 2019 in line to boost value of Vietnamese brands

VOV.VN - Vietnam Expo 2019 is set to take place between April 10-13 at the International Exhibition Center in Hanoi, drawing businesses from 20 nations and territories around the world, according to Nguyen Khac Luan, general director of the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company.

The event aims to provide a venue for international partners to meet export businesses operating across a range of fields such as plastics, rubber, paper, construction materials, and the supporting industry. It is hoped that the exhibition can help to improve the value of Vietnamese brands for domestic market development.

At present, organisers and participating businesses have  actively prepared to showcase cutting-edge products and technology at the event.

Mr Luan said several foreign businesses from Algeria, India, Cambodia, Canada, the Republic of Armenia, Russia, Cuba, Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Japan and China have signed up to the event so far.

Notably, the event offers businesses the opportunity to seek new clients and receive consultancy on aspects such as design, market demand, brand development and product packaging. Firms will be able to seek such advice through pavilions set up by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion in collaboration with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade).

The highlight of the expo will be the Vietnam Industry Investment and Development Pavilion organised by Vietrade. The pavilion aims to provide the latest information on the investment environment within Vietnam and introduce foreign investors to the country’s six major industries.

According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment, total newly registered and increased capital and shares purchased by foreign investors reached VND35.46 billion in 2018, equivalent to 98.8 per cent against the same period last year.

Foreign investors have injected their money into a total of 18 fields, with the processing and manufacturing industries posting the highest investment capital of up to US$16.58 billion, accounting for 46.7 per cent of total registered capital.
