Vietnam - China International Trade and Tourism Fair opens in Yunnan
VOV.VN - The China–Vietnam Border Economic, Trade and Tourism Fair kicked off in Hekou district of China’s Yunnan province on November 26.
The fair, themed “Mutual development – Mutual benefits”, aims to strengthen economic ties and cultural exchanges between border localities, creating opportunities for businesses to introduce products, seek partners, and expand markets.
This year’s event has brought together 500 and 600 standard booths, showcasing specialty products from both countries.
Apart from product exhibition and sales activities, the fair will also feature meetings between Chinese and Vietnamese delegations, economic and trade development discussions, cross-border logistics and a business cooperation forum, and a joint investment promotion conference.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Hoang Quoc Khanh, permanent vice chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, shared that the fair will contribute to effectively promoting bilateral ties between Lao Cai and Yunnan provinces.
He noted that Lao Cai will continue to encourage and create favourable conditions for Chinese enterprises to foster business operation and investment cooperation in the province.
Khanh also stressed that the locality supports the initiative to upgrade the fair to the continental level in line with the common interests of all parties for the cause of mutual development and mutual benefits.
For her part, a representative from the Chinese side expressed her belief that mutual efforts will promote comprehensive and specific cooperation in various areas, including the establishment of cross-border industrial zones and smart border gates, economic and trade exchanges, cross-border cultural tourism exchanges, as well as promoting friendly exchanges between localities in many fields.
The fair is due to last until December 1.
