Vietnam-China border gate pair officially opens for trade

A ceremony for the official clearance of goods at the Sam Pun (Ha Giang province, Vietnam) – Tian Peng (Yunnan province, China) border gate pair was held on March 31, marking a milestone in fostering economic cooperation between the two nations.

Located at Border Marker 456 in Ha Giang’s Meo Vac district, the Sam Pun border gate has long served as a vital trade gateway between Vietnam and China.

Since the official recognition of the Sam Pun - Tian Peng border gate pair on March 17, 2023, entry-exit activities have been stable, reinforcing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The initiation of cargo clearance at the gate now opens significant opportunities for cross-border trade growth.

Both sides have pledged to enhance cooperation in the near future, implementing effective management measures and optimising border operations. Policies to boost border trade are also set to be introduced, encouraging businesses' participation and facilitating cross-border commerce and transport for enterprises and local communities.
