Perié highlighted the need to strengthen activities in the South-South co-operation mechanism based on mutual support between the two economies.

With the COVID-19 pandemic causing a negative impact on the global economy, both countries must be proactive in initiating plans to promote economic recovery moving into the post-pandemic period, during which a focus should be placed on expanding markets, diversifying exports, and establishing international strategic alliances.

During the seminar Dang Vu Hoang, the Consul in charge of the Vietnamese Embassy, noted many co-operation mechanisms and projects that can serve to enhance exchanges and co-operation between both parties across multiple areas from economics, trade, and investment, to science and technology, education, and culture, whilst economic and trade co-operation can be viewed as a bright spot in bilateral relations.

In addition to mutual ties, co-operation between both sides at international organisations and multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations, the Non-aligned Movement, the World Trade Organization, and the Forum for East Asia - Latin America Cooperation, should also continue to be strengthened.

This can be done for the purpose of bringing practical benefits to the citizens of each nation, therefore making positive contributions to the joint efforts being made to build a world of peace, stability, co-operation, and development.

For his part, Luis Costa, a trade representative of the Argentine Embassy in Hanoi, stated his appreciation for trade exchange activities between the two countries in recent years, in particular the stable growth, whilst also expressing his hope that trade will continue to grow in the near future and surpass the current figure of US$3.5 billion.

Moreover, participants agreed to hold similar meetings with Vietnamese firms who are doing business or planning to co-operate with Argentinian partners, with a view to further expanding opportunities for broader bilateral co-operation in the future.
