Vietnam and Cambodia beef up logistics cooperation
VOV.VN - A Vietnam – Cambodia business networking conference on production, distribution, and logistics will take place in the southern province of Tay Ninh on September 12-14, according to Vietnam's Trade Counselor in Cambodia Do Viet Phuong.
The event aims to review and discuss solutions to promote bilateral trade relations, with a particular focus on strengthening and developing border trade between the two countries in general, and between Tay Ninh province and Cambodian localities in particular.
According to the trade official, about 250–300 businesses are expected to attend the event, including 50 enterprises from Cambodia.
The conference is part of the implementation of Decision No. 259/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, which approves the programme for developing Vietnam's border trade infrastructure by 2025, with a vision toward 2030. The programme aims to strengthen the capacity of the business community and improve the quality of human resources involved in managing and developing border trade infrastructure.
As part of the conference, there will be an exhibition area showcasing and promoting local products from both countries.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Trade Office in Cambodia, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Cambodia in the first seven months of 2025 reached US$7.01 billion, up 16.3% year on year. Of which, Vietnam’s exports to Cambodia hit US$3.23 billion, rising 5.1%, while imports rose 28.1% to US$3.78 billion.
